New Orleans-based Crescent Title LLC said on Tuesday that it had become the first real estate closing company in Louisiana to accept cryptocurrency to buy homes.

Crescent has stated that it accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash, and will review other cryptocurrencies in the future. He also said he had a file based on the current cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency is a type of digital or virtual money with no physical consideration. It can be converted into cash.

Bitcoin, for example, is accepted by big companies like Microsoft, PayPal, and Whole Foods. Some financial providers may even link a debit card with Bitcoin for direct dollar conversion.

Real estate in the New Orleans metropolitan area is riding a pandemic wave that has pushed up the average selling price of single-family homes by more than 13 …

There was global skepticism about the initial viability of the cryptocurrency, but lately there has been a dramatic shift in attitudes.

Crescent Title serves nine parishes in Southeast Louisiana. He says buyers will have a wider range of options with cryptocurrency and “experience minimal difference, if at all, from a traditional real estate transaction.”

The company’s announcement comes at a turning point for the New Orleans housing market, with falling prices linked to the pandemic and Hurricane Ida blocking new listings.
